Bend it like Bullwinkle

The Moose, a gift from the people of Minnesota, theoretically hangs low enough that Phoebe could reach it with very little effort. However, she prefers to kick it rather than grab for it. Mummy may have to rethink her opposition to youth soccer.

Kawaii

Phoebe is now officially a regular at Ninjin, our local sushi place.

We're not sure why all baby coats seem to feature bear ears.

Bread and Porridge

Went to Bread and Porridge for an omelette. Experimented with facing Phoebe forward in her BabyBjörn.

Watching the Animals

Maribeth has been creating a play area where Phoebe can lie on a rug underneath her toy-animal-bearing Activity Arch. (Rug by Crate and Barrel; quilt by Grandma!)

Mike is short for Microlion since we reckon he is about one-millionth the volume of an actual lion.

On Theo's recommendation, we also installed a mobile over Phoebe's crib so she can listen to Bach, Beethoven, or Mozart while watching the circling animals of the Serengeti.

Pushups

Maribeth reported that Phoebe was "lifting herself up." This apparently is the only photographic evidence.

It seems that lifting one's head causes a certain amount of forehead strain.

The Lady Phoebe

Her Adorableness enjoyed a day of Elizabethan drama in full regalia, although her Shakespearean namesake, a shepherdess, would likely not have worn a ruff.

New Year

Phoebe celebrated the New Year by sleeping for an amazing nine hours!

Since then she has been doing a pretty good seven hours a night.

Of course, those seven hours could start at 9 pm and end at 4 am.
