Mike is short for Microlion since we reckon he is about one-millionth the volume of an actual lion.

On Theo's recommendation, we also installed a mobile over Phoebe's crib so she can listen to Bach, Beethoven, or Mozart while watching the circling animals of the Serengeti.
I hear there was some ambiguity with the animals on the mobile. It took us quite a while to decide whether the sheep on our farmyard version was a sheep or a goat. It doesn't have a woolly coat, but it does have a scarf and a curly tuft on its head. I'm still not really sure; maybe it is a goat...
ReplyDeleteI heard that in Chinese, the word for lamb and goat is the same, so you often don't know exactly which is in your curry!
ReplyDeleteThat giraffe really does look like a horse on the box. Plus it is bizarrely colored, like a mutant dinosaur.
I can confirm the Chinese lamb/goat convergence. A goat might be called a "mountain sheep," but sometimes it's just a sheep. Which makes me wonder (though I'm too lazy to research it) whether there exist goats that are not mountain goats.
